Nashville-based Singer/Songwriter Ellisa Sun is excited to announce the release of her brand new single, “Stupid Little Things,” the third single from her forthcoming album. Crafted from real-life experience and raw emotion, this song and the production are simple and sweet, yet poignant. It is conversational and highly relatable; written to a past love and reflecting the universal feelings experienced from breaking up with a loved one, and thinking about all those little things you miss about that person and the relationship. “Stupid Little Things” is both compelling and vibey. It features Sun’s angelic, textured, and uniquely transparent vocals alongside her signature harmonies. This song perfectly blends the musical genres of R&B, soul, jazz, and the relaxed sound of bossa nova. “Stupid Little Things,” co-written with Emily Ronna and Nik Lizcano, was co-produced with Conner Gehlert. It was featured on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday upon release. Listen HERE.
“I wrote “Stupid Little Things” in the summer of 2021, after the hardest breakup of my life. It’s about missing those small moments with someone who was not just your partner, but your best friend,” reflects Sun. “I wrote this song with one of my closest friends, singer/songwriter, Emily Ronna, and producer Nik Lizcano, both in Nashville. I brought them the basic bones of the song, and they helped me add more lyrics to each repeating chorus, making the story build in each chorus. The collaboration aspect of the song brought it to life and helped so much with the storytelling. I love co-writing and the community-oriented vibes in Nashville are my favorite!”
Sun is currently in the studio finishing up her new album Sarabi, named after the cat she adopted in 2021 when she was going through a tough breakup and living alone. The project is scheduled to be released on February 2, 2024. She will also be hosting an album release party on February 3rd at City Winery Lounge in Nashville. You can learn more about the event by visiting her website or going to City Winery Nashville’s website.
